Bicycle Film Festival Tours Montreal This Week – Sept 1-3

with No Comments

A celebration of bicycles through art, music and film, the Bicycle Film Festival brings its touring event to Montreal this week from September 1 to 3.

The idea for a bicycle film festival originated in 2001 after Brendt Barbur, Founding Festival Director, was hit by a bus while riding his steady steed in New York City. Barbur decided to turn his negative experience into a positive one; one that celebrates the bike through music, art and film. This touring event has organized film projections, art shows and dance parties from San Francisco to Sao Paulo. Montreal organizers are excited to present the Bicycle Film Festival to one and all!

Join bike enthusiasts and party folk for the kick off party at Katacombes. Things get underway around 9:30 and admission is $10. Special musical guests: Rouge, Lightfires and Gramercy Riffs.

All film screenings will be held at the National Film Board CineRobotheque on St.Denis, with shows on Friday and Saturday

On Saturday, from 9am to 4pm,  organizers are hosting a Bike Polo Invitational at Parc des Veterans .
